Area Sales Manager (North)

Job Description:

Due to recent growth and further planned expansion we are looking to strengthen our sales force with the key appointment of an individual to cover The North of England & Scotland. You will be responsible for the sales of our branded Pet products to various retail channels.

You will be required to form a close working relationship with your key customers at all levels to ensure that the brand is well represented both in store and online to maximise sales opportunities.

Working with the field, the successful candidate will have a catalogue of over 400 Scruffs branded products (and growing) to sell. You will need to be the primary contact for a variety of retail customers including Pet Stores, Garden Centres and Wholesalers, whilst also being challenged with exploring new business opportunities in order to contribute to our planned growth.

Key Skills/Experience Required:

Self-motivated and driven to succeed.

Ability to explore and follow through on new potential account opportunities.

Competent in attending buyer meetings, agree joint business plans to drive sales

Strategic business planning & implementing this strategy

Attend trade shows when required

Organized, self-motivated, numerate and analytical.

Communicate with clients regularly to ensure excellent customer service is achieved.

Set and meet sales budgets

Be a team member who supports the business goals - Can do attitude

Be an effective team player building good working relationships with all internal departments

 

The Successful Area Sales Manager:

Proven track record in an account management / area sales roles.

Currently excelling in an Area Sales Manager role selling into Pet Stores, Garden Centres and other independent retail stores

Experience building brands with key retailers and distribution partners

Account management - leveraging relationships and contact to drive increased sales & profits

New business - comfortable investigating new account opportunities

Positive approach and team player

 

Location: This is a field based role covering Northern England & Scotland.
